US-based subscription streaming service and production company Netflix has announced plans to open a new office in Warsaw, Poland, in 2022. The new branch will serve as a hub for central and eastern Europe.

The opening will help strengthen the company’s existing relationships in the region, build long-term cooperation and create new opportunities for content creators and producers. Netflix also commented that Warsaw’s creativity and the potential of the local industry make it a great place to do business.

Netflix localised its service in Poland in 2016. Since then, the company has invested more than $115m (481.4m zlotys) in Poland in original Netflix films and series, and has created more than 2,600 jobs on its productions.
