Hong Kong-based fashion apparel company Epic Group has announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility at the IDCO Industrial Estate in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.

The investment, valued at $26.4m (INR 220 crore), is expected to generate over 6000 employment opportunities. The initial phase, spanning 31401m2, is slated for completion by May 2025.

The operations at the new facility would be locally managed by Trimetro Garments India, Epic Group’s Indian subsidiary.

Ranjan Mahtani, executive chairman of Epic Group, said: “We are thrilled to announce plans for our first manufacturing facility in India. As a leader in sustainable fashion, expanding our operations to India was a natural next step given the country’s talented workforce and expertise in textile production. With Colliers as our partners, I am confident we will develop a world-class facility that sets a new standard for socially and environmentally responsible apparel manufacturing. Odisha’s pro-business environment and strategic location also make it the ideal destination for this significant investment.”

Colliers India, a professional services and investment management company, has been selected by Epic Group to complete the design, build, construction, and turnkey assignment for the proposed facility.

Headquartered in Hong Kong, Epic Designers Ltd manufactures garments, clothing, and accessories. It has manufacturing facilities in Bangladesh, Ethiopia and Jordan, with sales offices in Hong Kong, Dubai and New York.
