European Energy, a renewable energy specialist, has opened its first office outside Europe in Melbourne, Australia. The new office will be led by Catriona McLeod, who has been hired as Australian country manager. McLeod is an experienced developer and manager of investments in renewable energy projects and aims to strengthen the company’s operations in Australia.
Knud Erik Andersen, the company’s chief executive officer, explains: “European Energy has been active in the Australian market for a while and with the establishment of an office in Melbourne aims to accelerate its activities. Australia is a market that we see great potential in and we are excited to take the step of opening a local office there.”
European Energy was established in 2004 and is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. The company has a development pipeline of more than 20GW of renewable energy projects and is currently constructing more than 1.2GW of new energy capacity across Europe, Brazil, the US and Australia.
