Spanish chemicals company Briolf has announced that it is to establish its first manufacturing plant in the US.
Briolf USA, the company’s regional subsidiary, will invest $30.5m into a facility in Monroe, North Carolina, with an accompanying 100 jobs to be created. Among the new positions will be engineers, managers and operations and support staff. They are expected to generated more than $5m a year in wages for the local area.

By GlobalDataThe site will be home to operations for coatings manufacturer Roberlo, Briolf’s “main subsidiary”. Among other things, Roberlo’s product portfolio includes solutions for industrial coatings and automobile restoration. The facility will also offer customer services for all Briolf businesses operating in the US.
The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) worked with Catalonia Trade and Investment on the initial stages of the project. A $150,000 performance-based award from the One North Carolina Fund will also assist in Briolf’s growth.
