Danish engineering group, Danfoss A/S, has unveiled a new production facility in Haiyan, China.

Spanning 126,000sqm, it is Danfoss’ second campus in Haiyan, doubling the company’s presence in the region. It is also the company’s largest production site in China, aiming to support the country’s transition to a green, low-carbon economy.

Danfoss broke ground on the new campus in April 2024. The facility allows the company to integrate all three of its business segments and its two application development centres (ADCs), which service its Power Solutions and Climate Solutions businesses.

It will deliver advanced technologies, including drives, compressors, hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, and heat exchangers, essential for decarbonising China’s buildings, transportation, and energy sectors.

Aligned with Danfoss' goal to decarbonise its global operations by 2030, the new campus also emphasises energy efficiency. In April 2024, Danfoss signed a power purchase agreement to obtain 100 per cent green electricity to reduce carbon emissions.

Arthur Xu, president of Danfoss China, called the new campus a ‘strategic leap forward’ for delivering advanced energy-efficient solutions.

“It will enable our Chinese customers to decarbonise and grow at scale,” he added.

Kim Fausing, president and CEO of Danfoss, stated that the investment in the new campus is driven by the company’s LEAP 2030 strategy.

“We continue to see great potential in the Chinese market, and the new campus demonstrates our confidence in China’s green future,” he added.

Danfoss currently has 11 production sites and 4 innovation facilities in China, with nearly 5,000 employees. Earlier this year, it also announced investments in Suzhou and Nanjing.
