US-based Viasat, a provider of high-speed satellite broadband services and secure networking systems, has opened a new office in Hyderabad, India. The opening forms part of the company’s ongoing globalisation strategy and will expand its presence in India. ViaSat has operated an office in Chennai since 2015.
The company has cited Hyderabad’s pool of highly skilled technology talent as the reason behind its investment. India is one of Viasat’s largest talent hubs outside of the US and the largest in the Asia-Pacific region. The new office will work on cutting-edge technologies and businesses to deliver broadband from space.
In a press release, vice-president Sathya Narayanaswamy commented: “Expanding our locations and growing our employment in India to include Hyderabad represents our increasing commitment to growth in country as well as the larger Asia-Pacific region. Viasat’s global vision includes India as a key player in accelerating our ability to connect the world in the hardest to reach places. We look forward to bringing this vision to life.”
