Norway-based Navtor, a provider of navigational products and services for the maritime sector, has opened a new office in Gdansk, Poland. It will complement the company’s existing software development networks in Houston, St Petersburg and Egersund, Norway.

The new team in Poland will be dedicated to the implementation and development of cloud services and AI-enhanced decision support tools. Andres Holme, the chief technology officer of Navtor, explained in a company press release that the new investment in Gdansk is part of a wider growth strategy.

“Earlier this year, when we launched fleet management application NavFleet and acquired Houston’s Tres Solutions, we announced our arrival into the performance optimisation arena,” he said. “This is an area where we see huge potential – for both ourselves and our clients – utilising our unique digital ecosystem, which seamlessly connects ships, shore and entire organisations, to unlock the power of data and drive better business decision-making. The move into Poland should be seen in that context: creating a world-class development team to deliver world-class, integrated and truly transformative solutions.”

Navtor was founded in Norway in 2011 and has since established subsidiaries in Japan, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, the US and the UK.
