Norwegian marine technology provider Kongsberg Maritime has opened a new facility in Kochi, India.

The main purpose of the plant is for the assembly of waterjets, and it will also offer localised technical support for vessel newbuilding and general support for regional customers. It is located in the Maritime Park adjacent to Kochi’s International Ship Repair Facility.

A newly established team includes service engineers to provide technical support for the wide range of products in Kongsberg’s portfolio, including propulsion, handling and navigation systems. The company is planning further expansion and investment in Kochi.
