US chemical manufacturer Huntsman has inaugurated a new innovation centre in Tienen, Belgium.

The new facility is aimed at helping Huntsman to reinforce its research and development (R&D) capabilities in the region, supporting “the application of Huntsman technologies in key markets, including adhesives, coatings and sealants; automotive; elastomers; energy; furniture and bedding and insulation.”

It will provide a workspace for over 100 scientists from the company’s polyurethanes and performance products businesses. Covering an area of 11,000sqm, it incorporates an analytical laboratory, two machine halls and automated product testing facilities.
