US-based electric vehicle manufacturer HummingbirdEV has announced plans to establish a new advanced microfactory facility in the United Arab Emirates. 

This microfactory paves the way for delivering custom e-mobility solutions to its clientele while also acting as a springboard for broader regional expansion, capitalising on advantageous free trade agreements in Southeast Asia, India, and the MENA region.

According to Rakesh Koneru, Co-founder and CEO of HummingbirdEV, “We are thrilled to introduce HummingbirdEV to the UAE, and we’re invested in making it a hub for commercial vehicle manufacturing. The company has entered the thriving UAE e-mobility scene, driven by the country’s aggressive push towards electric vehicles as part of its efforts to increase the share of EVs to 50% of total vehicles on the UAE’s roads by 2050.
