India-based manufacturer Global Seamless Tubes and Pipes has announced an investment of $35m to establish its first US production facility.
The new base in Mansfield, Louisiana, will create 135 new direct jobs with an additional 251 indirect jobs and will start commercial operations by the end of 2024.

The facility will integrate hot-finishing and cold-drawn manufacturing processes with the aim of positioning the company to better meet growing demand. It will also help to build a domestic supply chain for North American customers in engineering, oil and gas and power generation sectors.
Louisiana Economic Development (LED) offered Global Seamless an incentives package that included workforce development solutions through its FastStart programme and a $1.25m grant for the reimbursement of utility, road and facility improvements. The company is also expected to participate in Louisiana’s Quality Jobs program.
LED secretary Susan B Bourgeois said: “We are dedicated to bringing economic opportunities to all of Louisiana. Global Seamless’ investment will revitalize rural communities and support our oil and gas industry. We are grateful for their commitment to our skilled workforce and the competitive advantages Louisiana offers.”
AR Biswas, president of Global Seamless, added: “Louisiana’s position as a natural gas hub and a key player in the global energy supply chain makes it the ideal location for our first US facility. We are committed to providing high-quality products and services, and this new plant strengthens our domestic supply chain.”
