Netherlands-based Rocsys, a developer of autonomous charging solutions for the electric vehicles market, has opened a new US office in Portland, Oregon. The opening follows a funding round of $6.3m that was concluded in May 2021.

Rocsys will help meet growing demand for autonomous charging solutions in the North American region. In 2021, the company signed contracts with several notable customers within the US. Various other major commercial and industrial vehicle customers in the region have already shown great interest in autonomous charging solutions.

The company also plans to set up local production for the North American market, in compliance with the Buy American Act.

In a press release, chief executive officer Crijn Bouman said: “The electric vehicle market is growing tremendously fast, and we have developed a solution to help it scale even further. We chose Portland to be close to our customers and manufacturers on the West Coast. In addition, Portland serves as a robust hub of community and industry stakeholders who are committed to transportation electrification.”
