UK-based cybersecurity firm Mimecast has opened its first Canadian office in Mississauga, Ontario. The office has commenced operations with 60 staff members, with plans to expand its headcount within the first 12 months.
The new location will operate as one of Mimecast’s Engineering Centres of Excellence, with several engineering roles already filled. Approximately 70% of the office consists of engineers or personnel in product roles. As the office expands, Mimecast intends to recruit new talent in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing technologies to drive product growth.

In a press release, Fernando Gualtieri, country manager at Mimecast Canada, commented: “Technology innovation is brewing across Canada, and Mississauga is an emerging hotbed for the best talent and companies driving this industry forward. I’m excited to bring Mimecast’s legacy of cybersecurity innovation to the greater Toronto area and look forward to recruiting from a diverse and extremely skilled talent pool.”
To enhance support for Canadian and global customers, Mimecast previously established data centres in Montreal and Toronto in 2020.
Headquartered in London, Mimecast has more than 2000 employees and operates offices in North America, Europe, the UK, Africa, Australia, and Singapore.
