Germany-based renewable energy company BayWa Re has opened its fourth new logistics facility since the start of 2021 near Marseille in France.

Germany-based BayWa Re, a leading global renewable energy developer, service supplier and wholesaler, has opened a new logistics centre in Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône near Marseille, France. This follows warehouse openings in Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Poland earlier in 2021.

The 5,840m2 facility will serve customers throughout southern France and is strategically located near the port of Marseille.

The company plans to establish a training centre at the site in late 2021. In the first phase of development, four employees were hired, and six more are to follow by the end of 2022.

Christian Greven, head of operations at BayWa Re Solar Systems, noted: “The new logistics centre has been strategically positioned near the port of Marseille, taking into consideration the location of our sister companies in Spain and Italy as part of this decision.”
