Synnex Australia, part of Taiwanese information technology (IT) provider Synnex Group, has inaugurated its new Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) headquarters in Melbourne.
The 44,000sqm Oakleigh South site, which represents an investment of $97m (AUD 150m), also houses Synnex’s new logistics facility. It has a 22,000-pallet capacity and a 35-metre-high warehouse with an automated storage and retrieval system.
The new site also features 25,280sqm of advanced conveyor infrastructure, a comprehensive fire protection setup with over 8,500 sprinkler heads, and an 800,000-litre tank. Additionally, it has a three-story office building offering 975sqm on each floor.
Initially announced in July 2020, the new site has been strategically located to strengthen Synnex’s national logistics network. It will operate alongside its Sydney logistics centre, enhancing operational scale, agility, and service delivery across the region.
Arthur Gimisis, CEO of Synnex ANZ, remarked that the project reflected the “dedication of the people behind it” and “pushed the boundaries of what we thought was possible in terms of coordination, planning, and execution.”
Jacky Chen, senior logistics manager of Synnex Australia, praised the ‘unwavering teamwork’ for the successful execution of the project.
