US-based Realtime Robotics, a leader in autonomous motion planning for industrial robots, has opened a new office in the Shinagawa area of Tokyo, Japan. The opening will help meet growing demand in the region, with a focus on the manufacturing, logistics and automotive sectors.

The new office features lab and demonstration space, allowing clients to directly collaborate with Realtime Robotics’ team and engage with its technology in person. The company will continue to work with its existing Japanese customers and partners including Fanuc, Kawasaki, Mitsubishi Electric, Siemens Digital Industries Software and Yaskawa.

Chief executive officer Peter Howard commented: “Realtime Robotics is well-positioned to take advantage of the increased market demand for technology such as ours that can help organisations both lower their costs and improve the efficiency of their industrial robots. It is a perfect time to invest in our facilities in the region, as the optimisation and scaling of robotics has never been more important.”

Realtime Robotics completed a $31.4m Series A funding round in June 2021. The funds will be used to accelerate the company’s product roll-outs and continue its investment in innovative enhancements and solutions.
