Pure Data Centres Group (Pure DC), backed by Oaktree and based in the UK, will invest more than €1bn ($1.17bn) in the Netherlands to develop a 78MW data centre campus in Westpoort, Amsterdam.
The campus has been fully leased to a hyperscale customer, which Pure DC says makes it the year’s largest stand-alone hyperscale data centre lease in Europe.
The company has acquired the land on a long leasehold from the Port of Amsterdam, secured planning permissions and arranged 100MVA of power through a private substation.

The planned campus, called AMS01, will consist of three 85m towers, each containing 26MW of data halls.
The development will be powered by a private substation that is already built and operational. Construction of the data halls is scheduled to start in January 2026.
The data centre is designed to meet the Dutch energy efficiency target with a projected power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.2.
Pure DC CEO Dawn Childs said: “Amsterdam is one of Europe’s most constrained markets for digital infrastructure and Pure DC has again demonstrated its ability to unlock new low-latency, high-quality capacity.

Last month, Pure DC secured final planning approval for phase one of its €400m Madrid campus.
The site will ultimately offer up to 70MW of capacity, with phase one delivering a 30MW data centre and a dedicated substation.
Designated as MAD01, this site is located within hyperscale availability zones in a market with limited land and power.
Initial work will focus on installing high-voltage power lines from the Iberdrola substation and building MAD01’s private substation.
