UK-based Kennedys Law has opened a new office in Brisbane, the largest city in Queensland, Australia. It is led by insurance partner Stephanie Cook and is designed to support hybrid working.

In a company press release, Cook explained: “Businesses operating in Queensland have flourished and, as we continue to take steps towards a more open post-Covid state, we expect the growth in industry and investment in Queensland to continue.

“It is a huge state geographically, rich in natural resources, and home to many significant Australian companies and many of our clients have a geographic presence here. Queensland is a gateway to the Asia-Pacific region, making it extremely attractive to investors.”

Since 2017, Kennedys has made significant investment in Australia. It has opened new locations in Perth and Victoria and tripled its headcount across the country. Kennedys currently employees approximately 2,400 staff in 23 countries worldwide, including Kelowna, Lahore, Milan, Mumbai, New Delhi, Oslo, Panama City and Rio de Janeiro. In March 2022, the company also announced the expansion of its Madrid office, increasing its physical footprint by 165m2.
