Ingersoll Rand, a US-based industrial solutions provider, has unveiled its new $19.15m (Rs 170 crore) manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat, India.

In its initial phase, the Sanand plant will produce more than 24,000 units annually, with additional investment planned for future expansion. Along with its existing plant, this new site will boost overall production capacity while supporting both local and international market demands.

The Sanand site spans over 65,000sqm, with a current built-up area of approximately 24,500sqm. Additionally, it has a provision for further expansion in the future. It will produce various customised products, including centrifugal compressors, refrigeration dryers, and nitrogen generators. These products will support several industries, allowing the company to cater to diverse customer demands both in India and internationally.

Ingersoll Rand’s new facility prioritises sustainability, using 100% renewable energy and other sustainable practices. It has a goal of achieving net-zero operations within the next five years. Furthermore, the site also aligns with the government’s “Make in India” initiative.

In addition to production, the facility will promote job creation by providing opportunities for local workers. It will also focus on generating additional indirect employment through collaborations with suppliers, distributors, and service providers.

Gareth Topping, senior vice president and general manager, Compression Systems and Services EMEIA, referred to India amongst its fastest-expanding markets. 

“This facility enhances our operational flexibility and capacity, supporting our commitment to customers with a stronger local footprint,” he added.

Ingersoll Rand manufactures a wide range of equipment, like air compressors, power tools, and fluid handling products. It has over 21,000 employees globally.
