Fragomen, a US-based provider of immigration services, has announced the opening of a new office in the Philippines.
The new base in Manila is aimed at strengthening the firm’s capacity to assist with immigration processes for individuals entering the Philippines and supporting Filipino workers relocating overseas. It will also provide support for the Overseas Employment Certificate, which is a requirement for millions of overseas Filipino workers.
The opening has been driven by strong economic growth for the Philippines, with increased international activity. The office is based at Bonifacio Global City. It is being managed by company partner Kenneth Lau and directed by Ramona Perera, who brings experience from leading Fragomen’s Asia Pacific Coordination Centre in Singapore.
Lance Kaplan, co-chair of Fragomen, said: “The Filipino economy is experiencing strong growth, with foreign investments flowing into key sectors such as manufacturing, IT, financial services, real estate and tourism buoyed by recent government reforms. As a result, we are seeing increasing cross-border business activity and international workforce mobility as companies seek to leverage the country’s extensive talent.”
Mark Buchanan, regional partner for Asia-Pacific at Fragomen, added: “The Philippines is one of the fastest-growing economies in the region and a major source of skilled labour for global industries. By reinforcing our presence in Manila, we are enhancing our support to clients with both inbound and outbound immigration needs, especially as nearly two million Filipinos work overseas.”
Fragomen Manila provides services including strategic immigration consulting, document acquisition, visa processing, government liaison services and assistance for essential outbound services.
