Ericsson, a Swedish multinational networking and telecommunications firm, has officially inaugurated its new regional headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The facility will align with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and contribute to digital transformation throughout the Middle East and North Africa.
It capitalises on the Kingdom’s strategic geographical position, significant investments in infrastructure, and an expanding pool of skilled and diverse talent. The new headquarters reaffirm Ericsson’s confidence in Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading hub for regional innovation.
Patrick Johansson, senior vice president and head of market area Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Ericsson, said: “Riyadh isn’t simply where we operate from – it’s where the future of regional connectivity and digital leadership is actively being shaped. Choosing Saudi Arabia as our regional headquarters reflects an ambitious trajectory towards the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.”
Ericsson will collaborate with local universities by providing mentorship programs, internships, and specialised training to prepare students with the advanced skills required to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological environment.
The company also highlighted its dedication to diversity and talent development, noting that 52% of its graduate hires in the Kingdom are women. Through this expansion, Ericsson solidifies its position in influencing the digital ecosystem from the core of the region.
The company recently invested in Ireland and Japan, and it committed $170m in Estonia for a new tech hub in 2023.
