Emirati logistics company DP World has opened a new cold-chain warehouse in Navi Mumbai, India.
Located in the town of Taloja, the new site, covers over 10,000sqm and is aimed at serving the growing demands of the pharmaceutical, fast-moving consumer goods and quick-service restaurant sectors.
The warehouse has over 11,000 pallet positions and multiple temperature zones to facilitate the transportation of perishable and temperature-sensitive items. Its location close to the port, airport and key container freight stations is intended to allow for effective connectivity across the region.
Anoop Chauhan, vice president of contract logistics and cold chain at DP World Subcontinent, said: “With rising demand for high-quality food and healthcare logistics, our new cold-chain facility in Taloja delivers a future-ready solution to businesses.”
He added: “It combines sustainability, connectivity, and technology to help businesses grow in India’s evolving consumption landscape.”
The facility adds to DP World’s warehousing network in India. Last year, it opened a new location in Goa. Globally, it has expanded its footprint over the past few months with new sites in Brazil, Singapore, and Namibia.
