Bosal International North America, a subsidiary of Netherlands-based Bosal Group, has invested $25m to establish a new 17,000m2 headquarters and manufacturing plant in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
The company, a manufacturer of emission control systems for on and off-road vehicles, has combined two former Bosal operations in Warren and Ann Arbor, MI, at the newly launched facility. The new site also houses a technical centre and is in the proximity of key customers, including General Motors, Toyota and Chrysler.

Bosal International North America constructed the new site in 15 months and has located it on a 40-acre site to enable possible future expansions.
John Miles, president of Bosal North America noted: “We are very proud of this new facility and of how smoothly we were able to complete the transfer of both the production and technical functions from the former sites. Our new state-of-the-art manufacturing cells will allow Bosal to raise its already impressive productivity and service levels, while our new technical centre, with its increased development and testing capability, will enable us to deliver exceptional new product solutions to both new and existing customers.”
Bosal Group is headquartered in Lummen, the Netherlands, and employs about 2,200 staff. The company operates from 12 manufacturing plants, seven distribution centres and five R&D centres globally.
