The Badhalwadi facility marks OPmobility’s inaugural site in India, combining the production of exterior systems and energy storage systems within a single location.
Simultaneously, the new Kharkhoda plant, which held its groundbreaking ceremony in August 2025, is set to manufacture energy storage systems and is anticipated to commence operations in early 2026.
Laurent Favre, chief executive officer of OPmobility, said: “India is a strategic country for OPmobility, with a fast-growing automotive industry and as a platform of skilled workforce. Having developed strong historical partnerships with international and Indian automotive manufacturers, who benefit from a dynamic domestic and international demand, the Group aims at more than doubling its sales in the country by 2030.”
He noted that the company’s expansion in India was core to its strategy of “geographical diversification of our sales.” Being in India, Favre said, would also reinforce OPmobility’s engineering, digital and software capacities, therefore improving the firm’s overall competitiveness.
