The facility will enable the company to maintain its leadership in designing naval guns, launch systems, advanced munitions, submarine components, and combat vehicles.

The facility boasts key capabilities such as a specialised engineering lab and a modelling and simulation lab. It also features a system integration facility, a collaborative product design centre, and a comprehensive prototyping lab.

“Our new facility in Minneapolis demonstrates BAE Systems’ commitment to strengthening our engineering workforce and developing products that protect men and women in uniform,” Jamie Hoyt, senior director of engineering at BAE Systems, said. “This facility will serve as a centre for collaboration and innovation that contributes to our national defence.”

Andy Corea, vice president and general manager of BAE Systems’ Combat Mission Systems business, remarked that the facility is core to the company’s efforts to attract and retain talented employees.
